What you need:

-Wide mouth jar or can (I used a wide mouth Mason jar.)
-Fragrance
-Copper Caps
-Hot glue
-Wicks

How to make it:
-Cut your wax into small chunks and place in jar or can.
-Place the jar in a saucepan 1/2 full of water – make sure water level is below the mouth of the jar.
-Heat over low-medium heat, continuously stirring the wax.
-Add fragrance once wax is completely melted. (1 oz of fragrance to 1 lb of wax.) Stir to combine.
-Hot glue the wick to the center of the copper cap. To keep the wick in place, use a clothes pin across the top of the cap that holds the wick in the center.
-Remove the jar from the hot water. Use pot holders!
-Slowly and carefully pour melted wax into the copper caps.

13. Zipper Pouches

18-Cute-DIY-Gifts-zipper3

Cut two squares of white cotton fabric.
Draw the shapes you want for printing onto the rubber and cut/gauge out with a cutting tool/scalpel.
Coat your stamp in paint and print to create a pattern for the front and back. Try doing a few practise prints to get a nice even print. Try to space the shapes fairly evenly but don’t be a perfectionist about lining the stamps up. Jaunty angles and small imperfections make for a more movement in the pattern.
Once dry take a paint brush and use black fabric paint to draw on the details i.e the seeds or texture. Iron all your fabric.
Download the template here and print and cut out. Then pin this template on top of the two pieces of patterned fabric in line with the grain (use guide on template) and cut around the edge. The flat edge (with no curved corners) is the top where the zip will be. Snip the middle markers so that you can line up your fabrics later.

16. Magnetic Tote Bag

18-Cute-DIY-Gifts--magnetic1-3

You Will Need:
– a canvas tote bag (this link is for a single tote, available on our little Amazon shop, but if you’ve got the storage space, I recommend buying them in small bulk, like this set of four here. You can find fifty ways to use them all, and there’s a better cost savings for a bundle.)
– gesso primer
– magnetic paint (if you have spare magnetic spray paint on hand, like Krylon’s version, you could try that too, you’d just have to do a better job covering the areas you don’t want sprayed)
– two foam brushes
– masking tape (you could likely use painter’s tape, too, I just happened to have masking tape on hand)
– scrap cardboard sized to fit inside your bag

Repeat with all of the letters in your word. Pin onto the side of a pieces of cardboard or poster board to dry.
