12 Things You And Your Cub Scout Need For Your First Camp Out

It’s so exciting to take your Cub Scout on their first camping trip.  Here are some things you may need to take.

Medical Kit

You should alway try to be prepared for those cuts and scrapes with a medical kit.

A Tent

If it is just you and your Cub Scout a Four Person Tent should have plenty of space.

Sleeping Bags

When choosing a Sleeping Bag, pay attention to the weather rating of the one you have an eye on.  They vary from extreme cold to warm weather comfort.

This is a great pillow above, but you should bring the one you are used to sleeping on at home.

Air Mattresses

There are many different types of Air Mattresses to choose from.  I like this one because of the small battery powered pump used to inflate and deflate it.

Tools/Multi Tool

This is a great Multitool to have when camping. It’s versatility is invaluable out in the forrest.

Refillable Water Container

In most campsites water can become scarce.  It pays to fill a Water Container like this one up before you head out on your trip.

Bug Spray

Bug Spray and Pest Repellent are must haves outdoors.

Make sure you have something comfortable to sit on around the camp fire.  This is a great Camping chair to have.  It folds up, has a cup holder and is sturdy.

Comfortable Clothes

Having the right clothes during a campout is vital.  Check the weather reports of where your camping at and plan accordingly.

Being prepared is part of being a Boy Scout and that starts with being a Cub Scout.  Make a checklist of the toiletries you and your Scout will be needing and organize them so you can keep track of what is used and needs replacing before the next campout.
